Mollie Makes and a giveaway!

Last week, I got back from my parents to my copy of Mollie Makes on the doormat.... I'm always quite excited by this as it is one of my favourite magazines but this time I was especially excited.... and I mean completely over the top excited.... as I am in it!!! Yes, me and my little studio are featured on the last page of the current issue... eeek!!!

I am over the moon and I think the feature looks great! If you don't know Mollie Makes yet (and if not, just where have you been) check out their website for more info and subscriptions.

Anyway I've also got news of a giveaway to announce! I've been overwhelmed with the online kindness and support over the last few weeks in a month that has been truly awful. I really have appreciated all the messages, emails and comments I've received so to say a little thank you I've been making the prize this week in between father's day orders and I hope you will all really like it...

It's a textile embroidered canvas of a pretty jug of roses on a spotty table! It measures approx 31 cm x 31cm and is stretched around a wooden frame, ready to hang.

There are three ways to enter - please read carefully :)

For one entry, simply become a follower of my blog

For another entry, become a fan of my facebook page and share my giveaway with your friends or your business page if you have one

For a last entry, you can blog about my giveaway or add it to your sidebar (feel free to use one of the images above)

Please please please remember to leave separate comments on this post telling me which of these you have done as I will be numbering all comments and choosing the winner by random number generator and I would hate for you to miss out!

This time the giveaway is UK only, due to the weight and size of the canvas for posting and will end next Friday 22nd June, at midday.

So that's it I think... except for good luck and thanks for entering xxx

Giveaway winner

First I've got to say a massive thank you to all of you who entered my Seaside Home book giveaway this week, and a big hello to new followers too! As someone who loves the sea and the beach very much, I have so enjoyed reading all your fantastic entries, thanks for putting so much effort and detail into your answers, I really have loved reading them as they have come in!

Anyway,  down to business... I've assigned each comment a number from 1-134 (includes one facebook entry) and let the random number generator do the hard work - phew no writing out names for me this time!

So the winner is.....

Number 23 - Rosa Lily

Congratulations, I will be in touch soon to get your address!

Anyway thanks again for entering if you did and I hope you've all had a nice Eastery weekend. Ours seems to have flown by without actually achieving much, though I did spend a couple of hours having a bit of a sort out this morning (for more pics, click the 'Studio' tab under the header image!) Oooh there's nothing like a bit of colour organisation is there :D Back soon xxx

'Seaside Home' Book Giveaway - Now Closed!

So whilst I was away last week, a very exciting parcel arrived for me. It's been something that's been in the pipeline for over 18 months!

Way back in 2010, I was asked to contribute a project to a new seaside sewing book called 'Seaside Home', part of the Design Collective series by Stash Books. My project was to be my Beach Hut cushion (or 'pillow' as it's called in the States!) And finally... after all these month, the book has been published!

I am really quite excited to be part of this book, especially as it is such a lovely book! To be honest, I still am excited whenever and wherever I see my work in print, whether it is for my textiles work or magazine commissions, I don't think it will ever grow old! I would love to write and design my own  sewing/ craft book one day too...

Anyway there are 25 sewing and craft projects in the book, all with a seaside theme, including quilts, cushions, bags, and garlands just to name a few. All the projects are step by step with clear illustrations, beautifully styled photos and templates so it is perfect for both experienced sewers and beginners too, it really is a lovely book.

Anyway here's the best part... I am giving away a copy of the book to one lucky reader of my blog!

All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post telling me what you love most above the seaside. You don't have to be a follower of my blog but I would love it if you were!

For a second entry, you can blog about my giveaway. Feel free to use the top image if you want, and please link back to this post and leave me a second comment to let me know you've mentioned it!

The giveaway is open internationally, and will end in one weeks time on Easter Monday, 9th April, 7.00pm UK time.

Thanks so much for entering and good luck!

p.s If you can't wait and want to buy your own copy of Seaside Home, you can find it here (US readers) and here (UK readers) xxx

♥ Giveaway ♥

Hello again! Gosh, two posts in a day... it might be a record! (And actually I have written another today too, but that one is saved for next week.) Anyway, so here's my giveaway as promised earlier!

I have been thinking hard about the prize. In the past, I've done quite a few mirror/badge giveaways, so this one I thought would be different.

So this is the prize - one of my embroidered natural flowers cushions... I hope you like it? I chose this one in particular as it is quite neutral so hopefully will go with lots of people's colour schemes... The reverse is a lovely soft duck egg blue colour and it comes with a feather pad.

Anyway, there are two ways to enter to keep it nice and simple.

One is to be a follower of my blog, and leave me a comment on this post.

The other is to like and share the giveaway on facebook. There is no need to come back and leave a second comment here if you don't want to, as I will be able to see the list of people who have shared on fb, and will just add all the names to one great big pot! Oh and I would really love to reach 2000 likers on my facebook page if that is possible??? It's a way off at the moment, but you never know so pretty please get sharing!)

This time the giveaway is UK only, due to the weight of the cushion for posting and will end a week on Sunday, 26th February at 3pm.

So that's it I think... except for good luck and thanks for entering xxx

Giveaway time!

Well I've been promising a giveaway for what seems like months now... so here it is - at last! I thought a festive themed prize was in order now that we are in November, which in my mind at least, means we are officially on the run up to Christmas now - eeek! Anyway, here's what I will be including in the little festive package of goodies...

...some festive pudding buttons...

... a six pack of my printed bauble cards...

... a little stocking pin badge...

...a stocking decoration for the tree...

...and lastly one of my little snowflake handbag mirrors (can't believe how many of these I've sold already and we're only just out of October!)

So a real mix of Christmassy bits and bobs, but hopefully a nice mix!

This giveaway is really a big thank you to all my readers, followers and fans on here, as well as on my facebook and twitter pages! I'm made up to have over 300 blog followers, over 1000 fb likers and nearly the same on my twitter page - thank you so much for popping in every now and again to catch up on what I've been up to! I've really loved getting to know so many other crafty and talented people this last year too!

Anyway, so you're probably wondering what do you have to do to be in with a chance of winning??

Well I've tried to keep it nice and simple! Yesterday I opened an Etsy shop, so I thought it should be something linked to that! (Plus it's looking a little lonely over there so would like some more visitors!)

So for one entry, all you need to do is... favourite my Etsy shop, then come back here and leave me a comment telling me you've done so! Easy peasy :)

Now I know not everyone's on Etsy, so for a second entry, you just need to follow my blog, preferably by GFC, then leave me a comment letting me know that you follow.

So to recap... you can enter by:

Favouriting my Etsy shop
Following my Blog

Please remember to leave me two separate comments if you are entering twice!

All the goodies will go to one lucky person... the giveaway is open internationally, so wherever you are in the world, you're welcome to enter! The giveaway will end next Sunday - so the 13th November, at 7.00pm English time and the winner will be picked probably by the magic number generator!

Thanks again for all your support, friendships and lovely comments this year and very good luck with my giveaway! I will be back soon with some new things I've been working on, plus a blanket update too! Have a happy rest of the week, Jenny x

p.s If you are kind enough to blog, tweet, sing and shout about my giveaway, I would be so very grateful - the more the merrier! Thanks lovelies xx

Was a lovely day though - thought Kate just looked absolutely beautiful, so radiant! Hope you had fun whatever you were doing...

Anyway, back to what I'm supposed to be writing about - it's taken a little while but I've finally crept up to 200 blog followers so it's now time to announce my giveaway to celebrate!

Have been thinking long and hard about what the prize should be, and have decided that it will be a giveaway with a cupcake theme this time. My cupcake items are some of my most popular, so I will be giving away a little selection to one lucky follower, including...

and a cupcake writing paper set!

I'm going to try and keep this giveaway super simple this time, unlike in the past where I've had about 5 different ways to enter! So...

How To Enter

To be in with a chance of winning these lovely cupcake goodies, all you need to do is follow my blog - preferably by GFC, and leave a comment below telling me that you are a follower - That's it!

The winners will each be able to choose which mirror they would like from my new 'Girly' range (cupcake, flower, butterfly)

All mirrors are handmade and embroidered by myself using up tiny scraps of pretty fabrics. They each come in a little organza bag, so they make a lovely gift if you can bear to give them away!

Look what I've won!

Well the last couple of days have actually been a bit rubbish... Nothing major, just lots of little things seem to be going wrong! Mainly my sewing machine which after 8 years of being good as gold, now seems to be on the blink. Have spent a long time faffing about changing fuses and lightbulbs, with a couple of heart stopping moments when I thought it had packed up for good! It is working at the moment, but for how long is anyone's guess. Yesterday I also managed to hit myself in the face with the freezer door, broke my favourite unpicker and got rained on when I went to the Post Office, so not a great day in all. However, there was one thing to cheer me up in my times of woe... this cute little hamster!

A couple of weeks ago, I entered a giveaway on Emma Thomsen's blog It's All About The Fabric. It was an unusual giveaway as the challenge was to work out what a 2D pattern would make when it was all sewn up. To be honest, I'm not very good with patterns, and I quite often just make things up as I go along. My guess (and it was a complete random guess) was a mouse... and it turns out this was the closest to the correct answer, which was a hamster! So Emma has very kindly made up this little chap for me. It is all handsewn and you can really see all the care and attention that has gone into making it; such a cute and thoughtful giveaway prize, so thank you very much Emma! x
